Fully equipped cycling enthusiasts set off in groups, the wheels were turning rapidly, and the sound of "whoosh" breaking wind continued to sound; citizens riding shared bicycles in groups of three or five slowly enjoyed the beautiful scenery along the way, and there were laughter from time to time... In the early morning of the 11th, the Qinglong Lake Park section of the Chengdu Ring Road Green Road presented a lively scene.

Recently, "cycling around the city greenway" has become one of the most popular leisure methods for Chengdu citizens. This 100-kilometer-long greenway around the city connects Guixi Ecological Park, Qinglong Lake Park, Jincheng Lake Wetland Park, etc. There are 121 characteristic ecological parks, lush trees, blooming flowers and tiny waves like scales can be seen along the route.

The organic combination of sports and viewing not only sets off a new green lifestyle, but also promotes the "popularity" of the bicycle sales and rental economy.

Confirm the reservation form, check the condition of the car, and then hand over the helmet, gloves and other equipment... In a bicycle rental shop next to Jincheng Lake in Chengdu, Wu Yajun, the owner of the "post-90s", is busy receiving customers who come to pick up the car.

"About 200 professional cycling bicycles in the store were booked out as early as 3 days ago, and customers all go to the greenway to ride."

Wu Yajun, who has opened a bicycle store for many years, told reporters that after the popularity of shared bicycles, bicycle sales have been affected to a certain extent.

In April of this year, taking advantage of the popularity of greenway cycling, he transformed to specialize in bicycle rental, and opened a store in the four directions of east, west, north and south on the green road around the city to facilitate customers to rent a car and return it.

"The monthly turnover is more than 50% higher than in the past, and the business is booming." Wu Yajun said with a smile.

In fact, the business of bicycle stores has also "turned red" again.

The reporter visited a number of specialty stores in Chengdu and learned that after greenway cycling became popular, the phenomenon of hard to find a car became the norm.

Xiao Jianjun, a staff member of a Giant store, said that since the completion of the greenway around the city at the end of last year, the sales of professional cycling bicycles and cycling equipment in the store have increased by more than 20% year-on-year.

"If it weren't for the tight supply, the growth rate would have been even higher."

Wang Luping took a photo at the greenway "checking in".

According to Xiao Jianjun, the price of mountain bikes and road bikes ranges from 3,000 yuan to tens of thousands of yuan. Although the prices are not cheap, they are still very tight.

"Parent-child riding is also popular. This year's Children's Day store has no supply of baby carriages, and it has already been sold out. It's crazy."

For Wang Luping, a sports enthusiast who just spent more than 6 hours riding the greenway around the city, in addition to the beautiful scenery along the way and the joy of exercising, what impressed him the most was the difficulty of renting a car and buying a car.

"The original plan was to rent a car two days in advance, but it turned out that the car rental shops in Chengdu couldn't rent it. Finally, I traveled all over the city to buy a mountain bike. It was too popular."

In addition to professional cycling, shared bicycles are also the choice of many citizens when they experience greenways.

According to the data provided by Hello Bike, the total orders for cycling in Chengdu in the second quarter of this year increased by about 30% from the previous month.

During holidays, more than half of the popular areas are around the Ring Road Greenway.

During the Dragon Boat Festival alone, the total mileage of greenway cycling in Chengdu exceeded 400,000 kilometers.

In fact, the popularity of greenway cycling in Chengdu is not an exception.

As the green and low-carbon lifestyle continues to gain popularity in China, cycling, a convenient way of commuting, leisure and sports, has become more and more popular.

The continuous improvement of greenway construction in many places across the country has added to the added charm of cycling.

In addition to the Chengdu Ring Road Greenway, the 57.4-kilometer Fuzhou Tianlu Cycling Greenway, the 101.98-kilometer Wuhan Donghu Greenway, and the 42-kilometer Beijing Changping District Cycling Greenway are all popular cycling routes. .

Search for the keyword "greenway cycling" on various social platforms, and there are countless related sharing contents.

Liu Wei, Secretary of the Party Branch of the School of Economics and Management of Chengdu Institute of Physical Education and Deputy Dean of the Tianfu International Sports Events Research Institute, believes that under the above background, the construction of greenways will organically connect fitness and leisure, urban ecological development and urban landscape. Under the normalization of control, the resulting consumption stickiness cannot be replaced by ordinary fitness places.

It is not surprising that the cycling fever has contributed to the “turning red” of the bicycle economy and the development of related industrial chains around the greenway.

Liu Wei said that behind the popularity of greenway cycling, not only the travel needs and fitness needs of the people are better met, but also the transformation of urban development from scale growth to quality improvement.

"In addition to the spring of the bicycle economy, as the concept of normalization of epidemic prevention and control has become more and more popular, there may be waves of similar anti-economic development booms in the future." (End)
