My neighbor knew when my washer/dryer was ready better than I did.

At some point, underwear was missing.

Bought a house, just moved in, 14 days later a neighbor (who, by the way, is 35 years older than us) with 2 beers at the gate and says: "We all say you here, and if there's something to talk about, we'll talk." It works!

My neighbor passed away on January 19th.

at just 55 while trying to resuscitate him.

That was the second worst day of my life.

Eventually it got easier, but at first I saw his face whenever I closed my eyes.

We had a very good relationship (quasi substitute dad).

I miss him.️

On New Year's Eve 2020/21, a complete house party spontaneously broke out in our four-party house.

We drank from the two apartments on the first floor down to the basement and back upstairs.

Cheers to my neighbors.

Our neighbor is kind of obsessed with us.

He always looks out the window when we leave the house.

Ring our doorbell to state the house rules.

Tell us how to park in our parking lot.

Hassed us all the time.

We have already switched on landlords and property management, but there is no end to it.

When we bought a hybrid car and, with the landlord's permission, charged it via our basement socket, angry letters came and the car was simply unplugged.

Recently he locked me in the communal laundry room while doing the laundry!

But we have a friendly relationship with other neighbors.

We meet regularly to have a barbecue and chat.

Our horrible neighbors tried to poison our dog for years and finally even stole her and abandoned her in the Netherlands.

Thanks to Chip, she came back to us after a month of intensive searching.

Afterwards there were always meatballs with rat poison in the garden, bad letters in the mailbox, and there are all kinds of harassment to this day.

In the first lockdown, when it was really cold outside and everyone was falling on their heads, my neighbor invited the men from the neighboring houses – who at least knew each other from driving past – to his 60 square meter garage, which was equipped with a fireplace.

There was a window on the left and right.

So we sat in winter jackets in a semicircle in front of the fireplace with the windows open and a draught, one and a half meters apart, drank beer and got to know each other.

It was one of the most beautiful evenings I remember.

Since then we have met every few weeks for evenings together, often with women and children.

After all, the distances are short!

Not my experience, but that of my brother: newly moved from the village to Berlin, he thought he would introduce himself to the new neighbors.

Ring the bell for the lady across the street, she opens it, he says: "Hello, I'm Sebastian, your new neighbor." She replies: "I don't give a shit" and slams the door shut again.

->Welcome to Berlin.

In 1989 we moved to the Bonn region for work-related reasons.

We bought a house and I started preparing for the renovation right after the sellers left.

On the very first day, the neighbor, an elderly gentleman, came by at lunchtime and said: "Neighbor, we have a steak on the grill for you." Unfortunately, the elderly gentleman is no longer alive, but with his now 87-year-old wife and his children we continue to have a beautiful neighborhood.
