With its Future Trophies, Europe 1 rewards companies, associations or local authorities each year for their audacity, their innovation and their visionary side.

In the running for the Solidarity Trophy, Lumeen develops therapy sessions using the immersive power of virtual reality.

The start-up Lumeen has developed an innovative medical device that uses the immersive power of virtual reality.

The objective is "to offer moments of escape to those who need it most", explains Corentin Metgy, co-founder of Lumeen.

More than 350 medical and medico-social structures have already been won over in France.

Act against pain and reduce drug consumption

At the origin of the project, Corentin Metgy and his brother, a nurse, imagined a way to offer these famous “moments of escape” for their grandmother in a retirement home.

Today, the device is used with the elderly but also with people with disabilities.

Lumeen thus makes it possible to "fight against social isolation, depression and behavioral disorders", specifies Corentin Metgy.

In hospitals, it acts against pain and reduces the consumption of drugs.

A certified "medical device" tool

In three years, the company has grown considerably.

The team, based in Lyon, is made up of 16 people.

More than 350 medical and medico-social structures have already been seduced by Lumeen, in France, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg.

The tool has even been certified as a "medical device" thanks to an ongoing clinical study.

From now on, Lumeen wants to continue recruiting, strengthening its team, and accelerating its international development in the French-speaking area, then all over the world thanks to the translation of the application.
