Emirates Steel Arkan offers scholarships to 20 Emirati students in “metallurgy”

Under the agreement, which was signed by the CEO of Emirates Steel Arkan, Eng. Saeed Ghamran Al Rumaithi, and the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Professor Thomas Hostetler, Emirates Steel Arkan offers scholarships to 20 Emirati students to study mechanical engineering in “metallurgy.” » Throughout their four-year study period at the university, as well as granting faculty members and engineering students at Abu Dhabi University access to the company’s facilities and factories, to get acquainted with the equipment, machinery and tools used during the steelmaking stages.

He added: “Today we announce our partnership to establish a metallurgical laboratory equipped at the highest level to serve students and researchers from both sides, and to provide scholarships for a new group of university students, as part of our keenness to set an example in achieving integration between industrial companies and educational institutions, which will lead to Serving all parties, ensuring the infusion of new blood and preparing qualified cadres and leaders to improve the performance of the industrial sector in the future, in support of national plans aimed at diversifying the structure of the economy.

For his part, the Director of Abu Dhabi University, Professor Waqar Ahmed, said: “The establishment of the first metallurgical laboratory specialized in the iron industry in the UAE will support Abu Dhabi University, our mission to qualify innovative graduates ready to join the labor market, as this laboratory primarily supports the mechanical engineering program - engineering Internationally accredited mineralogy, which was developed in cooperation with the group.

He explained that the laboratory represents a qualitative addition to the university's current advanced facilities, supports scientific research and innovation at the university, and provides students with research tools and practical experience that enable them to excel and develop their skills and abilities in metallurgy, which will give them a competitive advantage in the labor market.

He commended the "Emirates Steel Arkan Group" for providing scholarships to support students' study of this vital specialization, and to contribute to the qualification of highly skilled engineers who are able to provide a qualitative addition to this industrial sector.
