The Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai warned against placing unwanted promotional posters and brochures in front of buildings and homes, and called on merchants not to market their services or products through posters and paper publications, as this is an explicit violation.


The Department's Commercial Control and Consumer Protection Sector announced the handling of consumer complaints regarding posters and promotional brochures that are distributed to homes and residential facilities, through the "Dubai Consumer" application or the consumerrights.ae website.

He explained that this comes within the framework of the sector's strategy aimed at protecting consumers from unwanted promotions, and providing immediate solutions to their complaints, in order to ensure the highest standards of quality of life and happiness for citizens and residents in the Emirate of Dubai.


The Director of the Consumer Protection Department in the Commercial Control and Consumer Protection Sector, Ahmed Hassan Al-Zaabi, said that "placing promotional posters and flyers in front of buildings and homes is not only annoying, but can have a negative impact on public hygiene and the living environment."

He stressed that the department constantly seeks to respond to consumers' complaints immediately, to reach their happiness and satisfaction with the services provided to them, stressing the department's commitment to establishing a model of happiness and excellence to ensure the well-being of citizens, residents and visitors alike, and to enhance the position of the Emirate of Dubai as the best city in the world and a preferred destination for living, work and investment. .


Al Zaabi indicated that the consumer can file a complaint about the accumulated and annoying promotional flyers and posters in front of the house or residential facilities by pressing the “Note” option when entering the “Dubai Consumer” application available on the “Apple”, “Google”, and “Huawei” stores. Or the website www.consumerrights.ae, and attach a copy of the advertisement / poster, in addition to the contact numbers of the complainant, so that the complaint can be resolved with the concerned merchant.


Al-Zaabi called on merchants not to market their services or products through posters and paper publications, as this is an explicit violation, in addition to unwanted promotional calls and marketing campaigns for kiosks located inside shopping centers, and to be careful not to cause inconvenience to consumers, and respect their privacy to avoid getting No fines in case of repetition.
