In the running for the Environment Trophy in partnership with Derichebourg, Caps Me, which has developed a system to reuse its coffee capsule.
Today, 4 out of 5 capsules are not recycled and end up in landfills or incinerators.
Caps Me makes the consumption of coffee capsules more ecological, with a system that allows you to simply and cleanly fill your coffee capsule without having to throw it away after use.
7,000 kits sold and 2 million capsules reused
"Today we have sold 7,000 kits and all our customers have reused more than 2 million capsules. It is a source of real pride for us. We are resold both on the Internet and in a large chain of stores".
explains Jean de Boisredon, co-founder of Caps Me. The refillable capsule is filled in a few seconds using a shaker, then all that remains is to apply a compostable lid before using it in the machine.
Once the coffee is prepared, the coffee grounds are recovered to be used as fertilizer for plants, for example.
Objective: more than a billion capsules reused
Caps Me wishes "to develop on the French market and to conquer the foreign market to reuse more than a billion capsules. The Trophies allow us to establish our credibility and validate our ambition to achieve these objectives."
