El Corte Inglés will close the centers it has in the shopping centers of La Vaguada and Parquesur, both in Madrid, on July 31 as

part of its "commercial reorganization" process in Madrid

that it has communicated today to the unions, as confirmed from the department store group

The group explains that

these are "small stores with a smaller offer

, which do not obey the original model" and that they are also close to other larger "and more powerful" centers, as is the case of El Bercial (closer to Parquesur) and Castellana, near La Vaguada.

El Corte Inglés wants to focus on these centers "which do have a complete offer" and insists that the closures "are part of the reorganization of the distribution sector".

The two mentioned will close at the end of July and

the workforce, some 500 people between the two stores

, will be relocated to the El Bercial and Castellana and Sanchinarro centers or to others "depending on the destination preferences of the workforce".

Precisely today the group announced that it has finally closed the agreement with Mutua Madrileña for the purchase by Mutua

of the insurance business of

the department store group and that it becomes a shareholder.
