NTT, a major telecommunications company, announced the latest research results at its affiliated research institute, and released technologies that utilize AI = artificial intelligence, such as robots that can talk according to the surrounding situation.

NTT held a research presentation in Tokyo on the 30th with the theme of communication utilizing the latest AI and analysis technology.

Of these, robots that can talk with people can also recognize image information such as the surrounding scenery and talk, and it is possible to talk not only with the content of the other party but also with the surrounding situation.

On the 30th, a demonstration of driving along the road by the sea was held, and a robot installed next to the driver's seat was talking to the driver, "There is a fashionable cafe" or "Have you ever surfed?" I did.

In addition, autonomous driving technology aimed at realizing a transportation network that does not require signals was also shown.

Eight model cars communicated with each other about speed and location information, and the computer installed in each car analyzed this information and ran so that they would not collide with each other.

In the future, we plan to improve communication technology, such as grasping position information from artificial satellites in real time, with the aim of putting it into practical use.

Mr. Tadashi Naya, director of NTT Communication Science Laboratories, said, "I would like to bring more and more usable technologies to society through research that makes use of our strengths such as voice recognition and dialogue technology."
