The "Japan-Korea Business Council" was held by the top management of both Japan and South Korea, and the attendees expressed their hopes for the improvement of bilateral relations in the wake of the inauguration of the new government of South Korea.

The 54th Japan-Korea Business Council has been held without interruption since it started in 1969 with the aim of expanding economic exchange between the two countries.



The online conference was held in Tokyo and Seoul and was attended by approximately 280 people.

At the meeting, Mikio Sasaki, chairman of the Japan-Korea Economic Association on the Japanese side, was appointed by South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol. I'm looking forward to it. "

In response, Kim Yun, chairman of the Korea-Japan Economic Association on the Korean side, responded, "Although there are still long-standing conflicts over historical awareness, Japan and South Korea need to work together for coexistence and co-prosperity."



A series of voices from the attendees expected improvement of bilateral relations, and opinions that the results of cultural exchange such as movies and music deepening between the two countries should be expanded to the industrial side, strengthening of the supply chain such as semiconductors, decarbonization, etc. It was pointed out that we should cooperate with each other.



In light of these discussions, the conference adopted a joint statement stating that bilateral relations should be improved and economic partnerships should be expanded.
