"Dubai Statistics": a 4.6% increase in the annual inflation index during April

The report issued by the Dubai Statistics Center showed that the annual general consumer price index rose by 4.6% last April compared to the same period in 2021, and the prices of 11 spending groups recorded an increase within the index compared to a decline in the prices of one group during April.

According to the data published by the center on its website, the prices of the food and beverages department increased by 8.56%, in addition to the tobacco department by 1.03%, the clothing and footwear department by 1.49%, furniture, furnishing, household appliances and repairs by 1.87%, and the health department by 0.89% .

And transportation services recorded during the month of April last year, compared to the same period last year, the highest rate of 28.76%, while the information and communications department recorded an increase of 1.46%, entertainment, culture and sports services by 22.23%, the education department 0.34%, and the restaurants and hotels department by 4.81% And the Personal Care, Social Protection and Miscellaneous Commodities Department 2.20%.

On the other hand, the prices of the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel section decreased by 1.26%, and this section accounts for more than 40% of the volume of the index.

In addition, the report issued by the Dubai Statistics Center stated that the general monthly consumer price index continued to rise at varying rates since the beginning of February this year, while the monthly index declined by 0.01% during January, rose by 0.47% during February and 0.82% during March, and by 1.23% in April, according to monthly indicators.
