Last year, Hangzhou's resident population exceeded 12 million, the largest increase in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration.

  As of the end of 2021, the permanent resident population of Hangzhou is 12.204 million, an increase of 239,000 compared with the end of 2020. Among the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomerations, the increase ranks first.

According to the statistics of various places, Hangzhou's population increase is 228,300, 137,100, 135,300, and 144,000 more than Shanghai, Suzhou, Nanjing, and Hefei, respectively.

And Ningbo City (9,544,000 people), which also belongs to Zhejiang Province, has a population increase of 124,000 people last year, ranking second in the Yangtze River Delta.

  Among the cities with a population of 10 million, Hangzhou ranks third in population increment after Wuhan and Chengdu.

Among them, thanks to the return of the population after the epidemic, Wuhan's population will see a large-scale growth at the end of 2021, an increase of 1.2012 million; Chengdu's population increase is 245,000.

  Data show that last year, Beijing, Tianjin and Shijiazhuang experienced negative growth in population growth, while Chongqing, Shanghai and Linyi had close to zero population growth.
