Dubai issues 32,500 instant licenses for business establishments

A report issued by the commercial registration and licensing sector at the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai revealed that the number of business licenses issued immediately since the launch of the "instant license" initiative in August 2017 until now has reached 32,564 licenses, distributed among several categories, foremost of which are professional licenses. by 59%, and “commercial” by 41%.

The report stated that the issuance of the instant license takes a record time not exceeding five minutes, and it is a service available through the “Invest in Dubai”

, with the option to issue an electronic articles of incorporation and a virtual website for the first year only.

Geographical distribution

The report highlighted the distribution of immediate licenses issued since August 2017 until today, according to the main regions in the Emirate of Dubai, where the largest share of the "Bur Dubai" region was with a total of 27,200 licenses.

As for the distribution of licenses according to the most prominent sub-regions, they were as follows: Al Fahidi, Burj Khalifa, Al Murar, Port Saeed, First Trade Center, Naif, First Dubai Investments Park, Al Karama, Al Mankhool, and Al Garhoud.

Legal form

The legal forms of an immediate license include four types: a limited liability company, a one-person company, a sole proprietorship, and a civil business company.

And the immediate licenses issued since August 2017 until today were distributed according to the legal form, with “civil works” at the top of 36%, followed by “limited liability companies” with 27%, then “individual institutions” with 23%, and finally “limited liability companies - per person” at 14%.

License Features

The instant license provides the option of issuing an electronic articles of incorporation, obtaining the license and commercial register of the company, and membership of the Dubai Chamber through the same procedure instantly.

The license also enables obtaining the facility card of the General Administration of Residency and Foreigners Affairs immediately, in addition to the facility card of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, where the customer receives a text message after issuing the license approving three employee permits.

Citizens Registration

The feature of registering employees for “citizens” was added in the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, when issuing the immediate license, in the context of implementing the Emiratisation decisions approved by the Council of Ministers headed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and encouraging The private sector aims to attract citizens, develop their capabilities and skills, and prepare national competencies to lead the competitive knowledge economy ably.
