  The Chinese side pointed out that since it announced that carbon dioxide emissions will peak by 2030 and strive to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, China has been scientifically, orderly and steadily advancing the implementation of its commitment to peak carbon and carbon neutrality, and has made positive progress.

At present, the carbon peak carbon neutral "1+N" policy system has been basically established, the "dual carbon" support and guarantee system has been gradually improved, the implementation plans for some key areas and key industries have been officially released, the green and low-carbon transformation of energy continues to advance, hydropower , wind power, solar power, biomass power installed capacity ranks first in the world, demonstrating China's responsible attitude and practical actions to deal with climate change.

  The Chinese side stated that to address climate change, it is necessary to balance the relationship between development and security, overall and local, short-term and medium-to-long-term, and on the premise of ensuring energy security and food security, take active climate actions to achieve sustainable economic and social development.

  The EU side appreciated China's unswerving response to climate change, introduced the latest EU progress in renewable energy, carbon market and other fields recently, and expressed its willingness to strengthen dialogue and cooperation with China, so as to release a positive signal that China and the EU are jointly promoting global climate governance.
