Last week, fuel prices rose again, according to official figures released Monday by the Ministry of Ecological Transition.

The increase is on average 6 cents per liter for petrol and diesel.

The latter rose above the 1.90 euro per liter mark.

The discount at the pump put in place by the government can do nothing about it.

Fuel prices are on the rise again.

The liter of diesel, the best-selling fuel in France, was worth an average of 1.9438 euros per liter, up 6.23 cents compared to the previous week, according to figures from the Ministry of Ecological Transition arrested on Friday.

Concretely, a full 60 liters represents a little more than 115 euros to pay.

The liter of super SP 95 for its part reached 1.8658 euro (+6.35 cents) and that of super SP 95-E10 1.8233 euro (+6.10 cents).

Several reasons to explain this increase

The price of fuels increases on the one hand because the price of oil itself increases.

We are now around 110 dollars a barrel.

But it is also the effect of inflation.

Because the increase in prices at the pump "increases the costs of fuel distribution", explains Jean-Pierre Favennec, specialist in energy and in particular oil, "between refineries and service stations for example".

Another explanation: the European embargo on Russian oil which panics the markets a little more as it becomes clearer, raising fears of new increases at the pump.
