The amount spent by two or more households in the last year was 1.6% higher than the previous year, when outing-related consumption fell sharply due to the effects of the new coronavirus, increasing for the first time in four years.

However, the situation is still lower than the level before Corona.

According to a household survey by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the average monthly amount spent by two or more households was 280,935 yen per household last year.

In real terms, excluding price fluctuations, outing-related consumption fell 1.6% from the previous year due to the impact of the new coronavirus, increasing for the first time in four years.

The breakdown is as follows:

▼ "Transportation" for purchasing parts such as automobiles and tires was 22.9%,

▼ "Accommodation charges" for hotels and inns was 19.9%, and

▼ "Eating out" was 6.4%. ,

Each increased.

On the other hand, the amount spent by households with two or more people in March was 307,261 yen, down 2.3% from the same month last year, the first decrease in three months.

This is due to the fact that the priority measures such as prevention of spread have been lifted and the opportunities for going out have increased, resulting in a decrease in spending related to eating at home.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, "It is difficult to judge whether buying is being held back due to rising prices due to the continuing influence of corona. We would like to keep an eye on future trends while comparing various data."
