(Sichuan United Front People said United Front Affairs) Li Biao, the "head" of Haite: Private enterprises should have the spirit of "honing a sword in ten years" when engaging in scientific research

China News Service, Chengdu, May 8 (Shan Peng) "To engage in core and key technologies, we must have the spirit of '10 years of sharpening a sword', to be able to hold our breath, and to be in the industry little by little. Recently, Li Biao, chairman of Haite Group, said in an interview with Chinanews.com that enterprises are the main body of scientific and technological innovation, and private technology enterprises have become an important force in China's economic development.

Headquartered in Chengdu, Haite Group currently has more than 40 branches and subsidiaries at home and abroad. Its business covers aviation manufacturing, aviation maintenance engineering, aviation training, aviation leasing and other fields. It is the most extensive and comprehensive maintenance capability in the domestic aviation field. Private aviation comprehensive aviation technology provider.

As a private enterprise that has developed a vast space in the field of aerospace engineering technology and high-end RF chip manufacturing, Haite Group has set a number of "firsts" and "uniques" in China: the first non-public aircraft maintenance license, the first A private aircraft overhaul company, the first manufacturer of transport aircraft simulators, the first Chinese company to obtain the global B737NG aircraft passenger-to-cargo STC, the only aircraft small and medium engine maintenance base and remanufacturing company recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology...

Haite Group started from aviation inspection technology.

From the end of the 1980s to the beginning of the 1990s, due to the limited technical means of aircraft inspection, the aircraft purchased by China's civil aviation companies from abroad spent a lot of foreign exchange for maintenance each year, which not only cost high, but also had a long maintenance cycle.

After seeing the "pain points" of the civil aviation industry, Li Biao and his father Li Zaichun established a company in 1991, specializing in aviation inspection.

After obtaining the relevant maintenance license, Haite Group used digital technology to engage in civil aviation inspection and gradually gained a firm foothold in the civil aviation industry.

When reviewing this development process, Li Biao said that from the initial aviation inspection technology to the later research and development of key aircraft core technologies, Haite Group has made a particularly solid step by step.

In 2021, Li Biao will deliver a speech at the 30th anniversary of Haite Group.

"The development of aviation technology can actually do something for the country and the industry, and it is also the value of our company." Li Biao said that in 1998, Haite Group encountered a serious disagreement: due to the company's management Good and earning money, some people hope to invest in real estate and other projects to "make quick money"; while Li Biao and his father believe that there are still many shortcomings in China's aviation technology and civil aviation industry technology, and limited funds should continue to be invested in the development of the industry. .

"After this disagreement, some people took the money to do other things. We stayed and continued to work hard to solve some problems for the country, industry and society, and constantly challenge the difficulties and blocking points of aviation technology." Li Biao recalled.

Over the years, Haite Group has invested heavily in research and development.

The data shows that the average R&D investment in the three-year period from 2017 to 2019 accounted for 40.69% of the operating income.

As of May 2020, Haite Group has applied for a total of 507 patents, including 179 invention patents, 313 utility model patents, and 11 design patents; it has mastered a number of non-patent core technologies and obtained 375 validly authorized patents.

In Li Biao's view, private enterprises must maintain their enthusiasm for innovation, and the prerequisite for private enterprises to continue investing in R&D is strong policy support.

As a deputy to the National People's Congress, Li Biao is also very concerned about how to build a good industrial policy environment for private enterprises.

"Currently, the supply chain of technology products is constrained. In high-tech fields such as aviation technology, there are still many core technologies that need to be broken through. This requires the industrial policy environment to empower enterprises, so that enterprises dare to invest and make up for shortcomings and chains."

"It has been more than 40 years since the reform and opening up, many private enterprises have grown from small to large, and some private enterprises have become the industry's 'leaders' and innovation models in key areas. I hope the country will give these companies more opportunities to undertake the important task of industrial development." Li Biao said.
