The Dubai Chamber of Commerce said that it seeks to promote a culture of corporate social responsibility in the business community through the social responsibility program launched by its Business Ethics Center, which aims to support, guide and guide companies.

The Chamber emphasized that the program is concerned with enabling small and medium-sized companies to gain access to the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to improve their performance and develop their business structure, as it provides the affiliates with opportunities to benefit from the expertise of large companies in a way that enhances corporate social responsibility and pushes towards a continuous evaluation of performance at various levels.

The Corporate Social Responsibility Program for Support, Guidance and Guidance is the first of its kind in the region, and its idea is to gather a summary of the experiences of major companies to provide information and guidance support for small and medium-sized companies and help them achieve growth rates, raise their business readiness and overcome obstacles and challenges they face.

The Center for Business Ethics, an initiative of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, which was launched in 2004, is considered the oldest and most important center of its kind in the UAE, due to its prominent role in promoting the concept of business social responsibility.

The center encourages members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce to implement responsible business practices that contribute to enhancing the performance and competitiveness of their institutions.

The Chamber said that so far, about 28 small and medium companies have participated in the program, benefiting from the expertise and training of 13 large companies, including Al-Abbar Enterprises, Du, Aramex, Dasco, Farnek, and Al Hilal Enterprises and BDP International, noting that large companies have provided about 300 training hours within this program for small companies since the program was launched.

Through the plans of the program, and in cooperation with major companies, thought leaders and experts in the fields of business, small and medium companies will obtain the various necessary skills that will help them in facing challenges and obstacles. overall economic landscape.

The program also helps SMEs fulfill the commitments related to the corporate social responsibility strategy, as such interactions will create a fertile environment for further cooperation between SMEs and large ones.

The Chamber explained that the program was built according to a work system designed to provide value to mentors and trainees, as it provides a clear and detailed guide to the process of guidance and support.

The program helps participants understand the business and financial situation of small and medium-sized companies. The program also provides special facilities in terms of registration, matching, guidance and support that enable them to prepare and submit reports.

She said that the Center for Business Ethics allows all interested companies to attend a briefing session presented by the specialized team with the aim of providing special explanations centered on expectations and desired results from business project models, and working on defining strategic goals and objectives.

The Chamber said that during the past year 2021, the center achieved successes represented in the success of the program in supporting mentors and trainees to overcome a set of strategic business challenges, and contributed to upgrading the work pace of human resources, employment and business growth, leading to the development of environmental performance, social policies and governance.
