At this meeting, CAREC and IFF jointly held the theme event "Commemorating the 30th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and the Five Central Asian Countries".

  Yu Hongjun said that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

  Ambassador Yu Hongjun also spoke to the participants from various perspectives, including the history of exchanges between China and the five Central Asian countries for thousands of years, the firm political mutual trust, the promising "Belt and Road" cooperation, and the responsibility to jointly deal with the changing global situation. The guests introduced the broad prospects for cultural and economic cooperation between China and the five Central Asian countries.

  Saeed Shaker Sha pointed out that Central Asia is facing the severe challenge of addressing climate change. In addressing climate change and energy transition, Central Asian countries are in great need of greater financial support through the development of green finance. In this regard, the five Central Asian countries have very broad prospects for cooperation with China.

  He said: “For us to build an inclusive future, we need collaboration between government development partners and business. We need access to affordable financing to drive a sustainable green economy. Currently, green financial products in the region are It is still in the early stage of embryonic development, so we hope that the relevant decision-making departments, development financial institutions and the business community can give greater support to the Central Asian region in terms of green financial products.”

  According to Hu Xinglan, chief regional cooperation expert of the Central and Western Asia Department of the Asian Development Bank, the Asian Development Bank has cooperated with the European Bank for Reconstruction, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Islamic Development Bank, the United Nations Development Programme, the World Bank, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Japan International Cooperation institutions, Eurasian Development Bank and other international financial institutions and international organizations have formed a partnership mechanism and will work together to promote the development of green finance in Central Asia.

  The Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation Institute is an intergovernmental international organization jointly initiated and established by China and Central Asian countries. Headquartered in Urumqi, Xinjiang, it aims to promote knowledge sharing and exchanges among countries in Central Asia and improve the economic management of countries in the region. capacity to promote regional connectivity and economic and trade cooperation.

The academy has 11 member countries. At present, apart from Kazakhstan, 10 countries including China, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Georgia have signed the Intergovernmental Agreement.
