Since the law requiring companies to reduce the number of disposable plastic products came into effect last month, the movement to switch to products using plant-derived raw materials is further progressing, and manufacturers are urgently responding.

Of these, a processing manufacturer in Tokyo, which manufactures plastic spoons for restaurants and convenience stores, develops products that use about 30% of the raw materials as plant-derived products and sells them to companies from the beginning.

Last year's production volume increased significantly to three times that of the previous year, but full-scale production has continued since the law requiring companies to reduce disposable plastic products was enforced last month, and last week it expanded nationwide. It means that a large number of orders have been received from the food and drink chain.

At the factory in Gunma prefecture, we will return the holidays even during this Golden Week holiday.

Motoi Iwabe, the person in charge of development at Tosho Kagaku, said, "I would like to continue to propose environmentally friendly products."

In addition, new products are being actively developed, and Oji Nepia, a subsidiary of a paper manufacturer, made masks, which became a necessity in Korona-ka, from materials made of sugar cane and the like.

With the enforcement of the new law, the switch to products using plant-derived materials is progressing further.
