As of the close, the Dow rose 1.85% to 33916.39 points; the S&P 500 rose 2.47% to 4287.50 points; the Nasdaq rose 3.06% to 12871.53 points.

Large technology stocks rose one after another. Meta, the parent company of Facebook, closed up 17.59%, Qualcomm rose more than 9%, Nvidia rose more than 7%, Netflix rose more than 5%, and Amazon and Apple rose more than 4%.

  However, according to data released by the U.S. Department of Commerce on the same day, the U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) fell by an annual rate of 1.4% from January to March 2022, the worst performance in two years since the outbreak of the epidemic.
