On April 28, a rail-sea intermodal train on the new western land-sea channel loaded with 74 containers of cargo departed from the Qinzhou Railway Container Center Station in Guangxi and ran along the first "Yu-Gui-Xin" southbound channel test train five years ago. The line goes to Chongqing Tuanjie Village Station.

In the past five years, the rail-sea combined transport train of the new western land-sea channel has grown from scratch, from trial operation to normalization, from one line to a network, and the volume of containerized cargo has increased by 186 times.

  According to statistics from China Railway Nanning Bureau Group Co., Ltd., in the past five years, the volume of container traffic transported by rail-sea intermodal trains in the new western land-sea channel has achieved leapfrog growth year by year.

In 2017, only 3,382 TEUs of containerized cargo were sent, which increased to 53,400 TEUs in 2018 and 94,000 TEUs in 2019.

In 2020 and 2021, the cumulative container volume will reach 313,000 TEUs and 632,000 TEUs, respectively.

In the past five years, the container volume of the train has reached 1.322 million TEUs, an increase of 186 times in 2017 compared with 2021.

As of April 27, the 2022 rail-sea intermodal train has shipped a total of 226,000 TEUs of containerized cargo, 2.4 times the total volume in 2019 and a 46% year-on-year increase.
