“Do you want the receipt?

“… From January 1, 2023, you could no longer be asked the question.

A decree aimed at abolishing in-store receipts is currently being consulted by the National Consumer Council.

If today, it comes out automatically once your purchases have been paid for, this would no longer be the case, "unless the customer requests otherwise", according to article 49 of the law relating to the fight against waste and the circular economy.

But this project is not to the liking of consumer associations.

ADEIC, AFOC, ALLDC, CNAFAL, CNAFC, CSF, Families of France, FNAUT, Rural Families, INDECOSA-CGT, UFC-Que Choisir and Unaf are worried about consumers .

According to them, a receipt should systematically be offered to them, so that their rights remain assured.

For our next Consumer Brief, we invite you to ask all your questions about this possible deletion.

An expert from UFC-Que Choisir, our partner, will answer it on video.

Do you want to know why the receipt could be deleted?

If it would have a real impact on the environment?

Do you wonder why obtaining a receipt is important for you, the consumer?

What risks do customers incur if we no longer deliver it to them?

What alternatives would be offered to them?
