According to the latest figures published by the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), Kia recorded its best quarterly performance in the history of the brand, with 145,222 registrations in the first quarter, an increase of 27.6% compared to the same period in 2021, in a global market down nearly 11%.

Kia's best sellers in the first quarter were those of the Ceed range with 24,369 registrations, followed closely by those of the Niro and the new Sportage, with 22,897 and 22,299 units sold respectively.

Kia's electrified vehicles (hybrids, plug-in hybrids and electric) meanwhile accounted for nearly 50% of the brand's total sales in Europe, compared to 28.4% in the first quarter of 2021.
