CCTV news: CNOOC announced on April 23 that China's first offshore super-heavy oil thermal recovery oilfield, CNOOC Lvda 5-2 North Oilfield, was put into production. The successful application will help the development of hundreds of millions of heavy oil resources in the Bohai Bay Basin.

Lvda 5-2 North Oilfield is located in the Liaodong Bay area of the Bohai Sea in my country. It is a super heavy oil with an average water depth of about 32 meters.

Heavy oil is a kind of crude oil with high density, high viscosity, poor fluidity and easy solidification.

The viscosity of crude oil in the formation of Lvda 5-2 North Oilfield is more than 20 times that of the thickest crude oil developed in the Bohai Sea. It is close to a solid form at room temperature and is extremely difficult to exploit.

Wang Benwu, Deputy General Manager of Liaodong Operation Company of CNOOC Tianjin Branch: We have successively overcome a series of world-class problems in the development of offshore super-heavy oil fields such as high-temperature injection-production integration and downhole high-temperature safety control, and now we have formed a complete set of offshore super-heavy oil fields. Develop a technical system to achieve a breakthrough in the economical development of ultra-heavy oil.

my country's offshore heavy oil is concentrated in the Bohai Sea. The Bohai Sea has established proven crude oil reserves of 4.2 billion tons, of which about 15% are heavy oil with a crude oil viscosity greater than 350 mPa·s.

At present, among the annual crude oil production of over 30 million tons in Bohai Sea, the production of unconventional heavy oil accounts for less than 1%. The conversion of heavy oil reserves into production is of great significance for increasing domestic oil and gas exploration and development.

Zhang Chunsheng, deputy general manager of CNOOC Tianjin Branch: With the completion and operation of the first phase of the Luda 5-2 North Oilfield project, Bohai Oilfield has formed a thermal recovery technology system for super-heavy oil horizontal well (steam) huff and puff, some of which have reached international advanced levels. level.
