Reuters: The European Commission allowed the possibility of settlements with Russia for gas in rubles

It is reported by Reuters with reference to the European Commission.

It is noted that one of the possible schemes for paying for gas in rubles provides for the opening by recipient companies of accounts in foreign currency at Gazprombank, where the money will be converted into rubles.

“However, the procedure for derogations from the requirements of the decree (on the transfer of gas trade with unfriendly countries to rubles. - 

) is still unclear,” the statement says.

The UK Financial Sanctions Authority previously issued a general license, valid until 31 May this year, that allows payments for gas to Gazprombank and its subsidiaries.
