On the 20th, a restaurant was opened in Tokyo where robots serve simple dishes, serve dishes, and collect finished dishes.

This restaurant was opened by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, a major machinery manufacturer, in a research facility adjacent to Haneda Airport for the development of robots, and a total of seven robots are active.

When a customer selects a menu using a smartphone, a robot in the bag puts a bag of soup or curry in a water bath, serves it in a bowl, or heats rice in a microwave oven.

In addition, the robot in charge of serving the food will deliver it to the customer's table, serve it using the two arms, and collect the dishes after the meal.

On the other hand, people are responsible for making inquiries about how to use the product from customers and disposing of the collected garbage.

Since this restaurant can be used by anyone, the company wants to identify the issues of service by robots and use it for robot development that leads to labor saving in the food and drink industry where labor shortage is serious and the nursing care industry.

Noboru Takagi, Chief of the Robot Division of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, said, "I think that unexpected requests will come out through the actual service. We will improve those parts and make customers think that we can do what we could not do. I want to develop it. "
