A new survey conducted by Bayt.com, the largest job site in the Middle East, in cooperation with YouGov, the leading market research organization, showed that 58% of professionals in the UAE are satisfied with the work culture, followed by working hours (57%). and opportunities for training and professional development (54%).

The main objective of the survey titled “The Best Employment Sectors in the Middle East and North Africa 2022” is to enable professionals to understand the current levels of satisfaction in specific sectors, and to make clear and commensurate decisions with their future career.

A number of sectors in the UAE were able to provide many employment opportunities for job seekers this year.

The survey showed that the banking, financial and accounting services sectors (8%), information technology, Internet and e-commerce (8%), and advertising, marketing and public relations (7%), are considered the most attractive sectors for job seekers.

Moreover, the government sector (19%) emerged in second place, in the list of sectors offering the highest salaries (including non-cash benefits), right behind the oil, gas and petrochemical sector (34%).

With regard to future expectations, respondents expected the information technology, Internet and e-commerce sector (28%) to register the highest growth rate during the next year, followed by the tourism sector (22%), and real estate, construction and real estate development (18%).

A number of respondents who are at the beginning of their careers in the UAE revealed that the information technology, Internet and e-commerce sector is the most employed for recent graduates (20%).

The majority of respondents (71%) also believe that the government sector is a preferred sector for work, with 56% indicating that it is a very preferred sector.

The sectors of health care and medical services (26%), hospitality and entertainment (20%), and banking and financial services and accounting (20%) emerged as the most attractive sectors to females.

While the government and civil service sectors (25%), the army, defense and police (23%) emerged as the most attractive sectors for local talent in the Emirates.

The survey also revealed that more than a quarter (26%) of professionals in the UAE have changed their work sector at least once during the past two years, with better salaries (33%) and better career advancement opportunities (27%), as the most important reasons that prompted them to change their sector. .

On the other hand, 6 out of 10 professionals in the country (60%) are considering changing the sector in which they work in the next few months, with better salary (49%) and better career advancement opportunities (46%) as the most important reasons for doing so.

The hospitality/entertainment sector (11%) has emerged as the most attractive sector for professionals who are considering changing their sector.
