The government has decided to include support measures for livestock farmers and housing manufacturers affected by the soaring import prices of feed and timber in the emergency measures to be put together this month in light of rising prices.

The emergency measures being considered by the government are centered on the stable supply of food and raw materials, of which the purchase costs of livestock farmers are compensated for the soaring prices of imported feed such as corn due to the situation in Ukraine. Due to the shortage of funds we have, we are planning to increase the funds.

In addition, as the price of imported timber is rising due to economic sanctions on Russia, we will support some of the necessary costs when housing manufacturers switch to domestic timber.

On the other hand, the expansion of measures against soaring prices of gasoline and other products by the end of this month is being adjusted based on discussions between the Liberal Democratic Party, the Komeito Party, and the Democratic Party for the People.

Furthermore, for those who are having trouble living due to soaring prices, we will consider including the provision of support funds.

The government plans to use this year's reserve fund to finance emergency measures, and is rushing to make adjustments for the finalization this month.
