[Explanation] Jilin City, Jilin Province, where Zhang Xu, a major grain grower, is located, is an important grain producing area in Northeast China.

Due to the outbreak of the local epidemic, whether the spring ploughing can be done in time has become the focus of the outside world.

As the party branch secretary of Zhangxiang Village, Huapichang Town, Changyi District, Jilin City, 33-year-old Zhang Xu is also the chairman of the local cooperative for the well-off agricultural mechanization.

Recently, the cooperative has undertaken the "substitute breeding" work of 25 hectares of paddy fields.

The reporter learned that at present, nearly 100,000 farmers in Jilin Province have returned to their hometowns to prepare for farming.

For farmers who are unable to return to their hometowns affected by the epidemic, various regions have launched mutual assistance in production.

Large planters, cooperatives, etc. help farmers who cannot return to their hometowns to plant land through substitute breeding, farming, and planting.

Zhangxiang Village was one of the earlier outbreaks of this round of the epidemic, and more than 20 farmers are still unable to return to their hometowns to prepare for farming.

More than 10 workers from the cooperative are busy building nursery greenhouses to "bring" seedlings for villagers who are isolated or infected with the new crown virus.

Our shed is a temporary shed. Because of the epidemic, many quarantined people who are unable to return to their hometowns cannot return to their homes and cannot plant the land.

Then we just added two more sheds, which can hold a total of 13,000 trays (miao), and now more than 7,000 trays have been ordered, and some are waiting for the list.

[Explanation] The reporter saw that in the nursery shed that had been built, the workers kept turning the land with shovels.

Zhang Xu said that the construction of the nursery greenhouse is coming to an end, and he will inform the stranded villagers about the progress of cultivation every day.

If the farmer is normal, he should be raising seedlings during this period. The role we can play is that there is a month from the seedling to transplanting. This month will not affect the farmer's normal spring ploughing production.

[Explanation] In order to "protect" the granary, Jilin Province has successively issued plans to promote the solution of the problem of stranded farmers returning home to prepare for spring ploughing.

Going back to farming on their own land is an option for most farmers.

"Not an inch of land is left uncultivated" is the direction of their struggles living on the black soil.
