In the appeal, the legislator noted that hundreds of thousands of refugees from the DPR, LPR and Ukraine have arrived in Russia since February.

For most of them, the forced temporary relocation was a severe shock associated with the need to leave their homes and stop working, the parliamentarian noted.

At the same time, as Matveychev clarified, when they are employed in Russia, they, like other citizens, are required to pay income tax in the amount of 13%.

“In order to support this category of citizens, I ask you to consider the possibility of exempting from income tax until the end of 2022 those persons who arrived on the territory of the Russian Federation as refugees starting from February 18, 2022 from the territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, as well as from the territory of Ukraine,” the appeal says.

Earlier it became known that since the beginning of the evacuation of residents of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, more than 0.5 million people have crossed the Russian border in the Rostov region.
