“According to the Bank of Russia, the external debt of the Russian Federation as of April 1, 2022 amounted to $453.5, having decreased by $26.5 billion, or 5.5%, since the beginning of the year,” the Central Bank said in a statement.

The dynamics of this indicator was affected by the reduction of "foreign debt of other sectors", explains the regulator.

As State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said earlier, Russia has funds in its accounts to fulfill its obligations in full even under sanctions.
