Facua

has filed complaints with the consumer authorities of 13 autonomous communities against

230 gas stations

that

raised fuel prices

five cents or more on April 1, the day the discounts approved for the next three months by the Council of Ministers came into force .

Toledo

,

Valencia

and

Seville

are the provinces with the most reported service stations, Facua reported in a statement.

Given the

lack of response from the Ministry of Consumer Affairs

and the question of whether it will have transferred the facts to the autonomous communities, Facua has chosen to go directly to its consumer protection administrations, which have sanctioning power, explained the consumer association.

The complaints have been filed with the general directorates, agencies and consumer institutes of

Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Catalonia, the Valencian Community, Euskadi, Extremadura, Galicia, Madrid, Murcia and Navarra

.

Facua has also reported the events to the

eight regional competition agencies

with sanctioning powers: Andalusia, Aragon, Catalonia, Euskadi, Extremadura, Galicia, Castilla y León and the Valencian Community and on April 6 reported the increases to the

Ministry of Consumption and the National Commission of Markets and Competition

(CNMC).

In addition to determining whether each reported gas station should be sanctioned,

Facua

also considers it necessary to investigate whether there have been agreements in certain provinces to apply the increases in parallel.

On the morning of

April 1

, the reported service stations applied

increases of at least 5 cents

, which is the margin cut that the sector has to contribute, as established by Royal Decree-Law 6/2022, of March 29, for which urgent measures are adopted within the framework of the National Plan for response to the economic and social consequences of the war in Ukraine.

Thus, 208 of the more than

5,000 gas stations that updated their prices

and communicated them to the Ministry for the Ecological Transition on the morning of April 1 applied increases of 5 cents or more in diesel prices, and in terms of gasoline 95 the rise of 5 cents or more occurred at 171 service stations.

The association obtained the data on the mornings of March 31 and April 1 through the Geoportal website, belonging to the aforementioned ministry.

By communities,

Andalusia is the region with the highest number of reported stations

, 65;

Castilla-La Mancha occupies the second position, with 46 gas stations;

Extremadura, with 21 gas stations;

Catalonia, with 18;

Murcia, ten;

Aragon 10;

six in the Community of Madrid and four in Navarra and Galicia, and one in Euskadi and another in the Principality of Asturias.

Of the 230 service stations reported, 26 belong to Repsol, followed by ES Carburantes, with twelve, Farruco SA, with ten, followed by Cepsa, with eight gas stations, Galp with seven, MaxOil with 6 and BP with 4, among others. .
