In response to the drastic increase in the price of imported wheat sold by the government against the backdrop of the tightening situation in Ukraine, major flour makers Nippon Flour Mills and Showa Sangyo have decided to use commercial wheat flour since June. I decided to raise the price.

According to the announcement, both companies will raise the price per 25 kg, 370 yen for strong flour used for bread etc., 320 yen for Nippon Flour Mills and 325 yen for Showa Sangyo for medium-strength flour and weak flour used for udon and confectionery. Will be.

The price increase will be from the delivery on June 20th, and the increase will be the second largest in the past for strong flour and the third largest in the past for medium-strength flour and weak flour for both companies.

Most of the wheat consumed domestically is produced overseas and imported collectively by the government, but in addition to poor harvests in North America, which is the main production area, there are concerns about supply shortages due to the tightening situation in Ukraine. The international price of wheat has risen further, and the price of imported wheat sold by the government to milling companies has also risen by more than 17% from this month.

This price increase is due to the government's increase in the selling price, and Nisshin Seifun has already decided to raise the price at major flour millers.

The three major companies raised prices in December last year, and these moves are expected to have a further impact on the prices of flour-based bread and udon noodles.
