Sino-Singapore Jingwei, April 11 (Lin Wansi Lei Zongrun) Shanghai is at a critical period for epidemic prevention and control. The most urgent problem facing Shanghai people in lockdown is the shortage of supplies. Even the queen of venture capital Xu Xin is at the owner. The group snapped up milk and bread for the family.
As the saying goes, "If you have surplus food at home, don't panic." What kind of goods do you need to stock up during home quarantine?
What's on the stocking list of Shanghainese at the moment?
Sino-Singapore Jingwei recently talked to four Shanghainese, including medical workers, volunteers, and the owner of a fried chicken chop shop. The following is their self-statement (slightly edited):
Alcohol for pork, chili for cucumber
Mr. Yang volunteers to live alone in Puxi, Shanghai
On April 1, the Puxi area officially began to be closed and controlled, and it has been 10 days so far.
During the lockdown period, all takeaways in the community were stopped, and fresh food platforms were all based on luck.
During the lockdown period, I got up at 5:50 every morning to grab food, but so far I haven't had a single day of success. Fortunately, I can still rely on the materials prepared in the early stage for a period of time.
But there are always omissions in the process of stockpiling. During the lockdown period, I used alcohol for pork, and I also saw neighbors in the building exchange peppers for cucumbers.
We communicated on WeChat in advance, and then put the supplies in bags and hung them on the doorknob of the other party.
In addition to food, living necessities are also critical.
A material that is easily overlooked - toilet paper must be prepared. If there is no paper, you can only wash the toilet after going to the toilet, which is troublesome and unsanitary, so you must stock up on toilet paper!
There is also an important item - a spare key. During the closed management period, if you do not have a key, it is very difficult to find a locksmith to enter the community to unlock the lock.
Stock up list:
whole piece of meat
Baby vegetables, Chinese cabbage and other leafy vegetables
Zucchini, carrots, daikon, beans
orange
Dry goods such as daylily, seaweed, wakame, fungus, mushroom, etc.
Self-heating hot pot from Haidilao, fresh boiled noodles from Hefulao noodles and other convenience foods
Seasonings such as salt, vinegar, soy sauce
Toothpaste, facial cleanser, toilet paper and other daily toiletries
Clothing disinfectant and alcohol, 84 disinfectant
spare keys
Store stuff in the freezer
Mr. Liu, the owner of the fried chicken chop shop, a family of four in Jiading, Shanghai
It has been nearly a month since the store closed on March 15.
On April 7, I saw that the community was short of supplies, and I happened to have some supplies at home, so I immediately reported it to the community, and delivered the more than 70 chicken chops, chicken fillets, sausages and other meat products through volunteers. It was sold to neighbors in the community at a low price.
Because I work in the catering industry, I usually stock up a lot of rice, noodles, grains and oils at home. This time I have enough meat, but I have run out of vegetables and fruits.
Because of the short storage time, even if the store uses vegetables, they will not hoard too much, and the vegetables and fruits are all delivered on-the-fly.
According to my experience, as long as you have oil, salt, rice, flour, dried noodles, instant noodles, quick-frozen dumplings, radishes, potatoes, onions, and cabbage at home, you will not panic for half a month.
All the supplies in my house are stored in the freezer. I use a large 318-liter freezer at home. If it is used by ordinary households, I can use a smaller freezer. But where to buy it now, can I still buy it? I'm not quite sure.
Stock up list:
Rice, flour, oil, salt, dried noodles, instant noodles, quick-frozen dumplings
Radishes, Potatoes, Onions, Cabbage
Chicken chop, chicken fillet, sausage
apples, oranges
Some volunteers fainted at work, do not stock up on non-essential items
Mr. Tian is an accountant and the two of them are at home in Songjiang, Shanghai
I usually have the habit of hoarding goods, especially during the epidemic, I will often organize my hoarding list and replenish it frequently for emergencies.
I mainly stock up on daily necessities, occasionally discounted items, or items that are not easy to buy, and I stock up on large supermarkets like Metro.
But if you want to stay at home for a long time, you still need to stock up on staple foods such as rice and noodles, and then add some quick-frozen foods to match with convenience foods.
Before this epidemic, fortunately, a lot of frozen fresh meat, sausages and snacks were stocked up.
Before the epidemic was closed and controlled, I went to the supermarket around the community to stock up some supplies. According to my stocking list, I stocked up a pound or two of each vegetable, which could basically meet the daily needs of two people for ten days.
But now after the lockdown, we can only rely on community group purchases to replenish.
At present, fruits and vegetables are more difficult to buy, because they are not easy to store, so they need to be replenished frequently, but the rush to buy depends on luck.
What I'm more worried about now is that the paper stocked at home is not enough, and such daily necessities are not easy to be snapped up, and the items that are usually snapped up have to be delivered by volunteers.
Yesterday (April 9), some community volunteers fainted while working. They were often delivering supplies in the middle of the night, and many people ordered non-necessities, which brought a great burden to delivery.
I also hope that everyone will try their best not to hoard non-necessities, so as to reduce the workload of volunteers.

From opening my eyes to 2 or 3 in the morning, most of my time was spent in the anti-epidemic work of the "positive buildings" in the community.
"Positive building" means that there is a positive nucleic acid test (or antigen test) case in the building where you live, and each resident in the building is currently in a state of home isolation.
