The Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs stated that Guangzhou has developed facility agriculture, and the city's annual vegetable supply has maintained a self-sufficiency rate of 100% for many years. The city's total vegetable output in 2021 is 4.0384 million tons.

As for the production and supply of livestock and poultry, the "Measures for the Sustainable and Healthy Development of the Live Pig Industry in Guangzhou" issued on March 1 this year proposed seven work measures, including stabilizing sow production, strengthening pork reserve regulation and production capacity regulation mechanisms.
In addition, at present, there are 11.91 million poultry in Guangzhou, the average daily output of eggs is 90 tons, and about 20,890 tons of aquatic products are stored in ponds. The production is stable.
In terms of fruit production and supply, Guangzhou's fruit production and output in the second quarter showed an upward trend. The daily supply of locally grown fruits in the current season was about 650 tons. The main varieties are guava, banana and dragon fruit.
Since the beginning of this year, the agricultural and rural departments at the city and district levels have implemented a daily monitoring system for important agricultural products in the city, monitoring the inventory and production capacity of important agricultural products such as vegetables, fruits, pig slaughtering, livestock and poultry, and aquatic products, and monitoring information such as spinach, lettuce, etc. 39 major vegetable varieties have been dispatched for ten days.
At the same time, Guangzhou has set up 120 key agricultural product supply guarantee enterprises on a regular basis throughout the city as an emergency supply guarantee force; intensified the coordination of agricultural product processing enterprises, and improved the production, supply and delivery of new categories such as quick-frozen vegetables and pre-made vegetables.
