Al-Sir Marine begins construction of its first giant LNG vessels

Al-Seer Marine Equipment and Supplies Company "Al-Seer Marine", a subsidiary of the International Holding Company, announced the start of construction works for its first ships of the giant liquefied petroleum gas tankers "Lucky Gas".


Expected increase

Al-Seer Marine stated in a statement that it had entered into a partnership last year with BGN International, a company specialized in the field of energy, trade, warehousing and transportation, to establish a joint venture under the name ABGC DMCC, and the two companies agreed to assign South Korea's Hyundai Heavy Industries is building two new super-large liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tankers.



She explained that this step comes in preparation for the expected increase in demand for giant LPG tankers, in light of the growth of LNG exports between several regions around the world, including the Middle East, Asia, West Africa, Europe, and the United States.


Two new carriers

According to the statement, "Lucky Gas" represents the first ships of the "Sir Marine" of giant LPG tankers, which are expected to be delivered by March of 2023, and construction work for the second ship "North Gas" is expected to begin in May 2022, Delivered by June 2023.

Each vessel has a capacity of 86,000 cubic metres, and the two new tankers will be equipped with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) propellant and steering engines, reinforcing their commitment to protecting the environment and reducing their carbon footprint.
