Who has never done a big spring cleaning?

While square meters are lacking, a majority of French people take advantage of this season to reorganize cupboards and empty them when possible.

At a minimum, of course, we think of storing winter belongings in vacuum-packed covers to make room for lighter clothes.

But it can also be an opportunity to really sort through your wardrobe to save space by getting rid of a whole bunch of stuff that you've been storing for far too long without ever putting them on.

If they are still in good condition, you can then donate them through clothing containers, solidarity associations or even dedicated applications, or sell them to supplement the month thanks to the many second-hand market sites.

A tailor-made storage space

Nevertheless, the task is often more delicate when it comes to furniture.

Again, donation and resale are possible but not always desirable.

For lack of a cellar or attic, many individuals therefore do not hesitate to rent storage space.

The storage market is indeed booming.

In 2017, a study carried out by the firm Xerfi estimated that France had some 650 self-storage places used by individuals and businesses.

In this rapidly changing sector, traditional companies coexist with young online platforms that are revolutionizing practices thanks to co-storage with neighbours, insulated containers offered at a lower cost or even digital tracking services for all your stored furniture.

If the price varies according to the formulas, count on average 100 euros per month in the provinces to rent a box or a container of 8 to 10 m3.

But be careful, you will have to add the price of insurance and miscellaneous costs to best protect your business.

It is therefore necessary to think about comparing the offers.
