More than ever, Audi seems to want to focus exclusively on gasoline engines (possibly hybrids) and electric ones.

A decision that concerns both the A3 and A6 models, the Q7/Q8 or the Q5.

In addition, some gasoline engines could also disappear.

This is the case with the 5.2 V10 of the R8 or the famous 2.5-litre inline 5-cylinder of the RS 3, RS Q3 and TT RS.

If the decision may seem surprising, it has been carefully considered by Audi.

In 2021, Diesel represented only 1% of registrations in the Netherlands.

Worse still, during the last semester, Audi only sold 42 diesel cars.

Conversely, the plug-in hybrid is very successful there.

The brand with the rings does not rule out applying the same policy in other European countries in the near future.

As a reminder, Audi is supposed to launch its last combustion engine car in 2025.
