As the movement to introduce EV = electric vehicle is accelerating among domestic and foreign automobile manufacturers, the Italian car that appeared in the popular animation "Lupin III" will be sold in Japan as EV.

"Stellantis", which owns automobile brands such as Italy and France, announced on the 5th that it will sell the compact size car of Italy's "Fiat" as an EV in Japan from June.

The second-generation model of this car, introduced in the 1950s, is a brand that represents "Fiat", such as appearing in the popular anime "Lupin III".

The EV sold is said to have a maximum distance of about 300 kilometers on a single charge.

It is mainly sold by so-called subscription that can be used with a fixed monthly payment, and it can be used from 53,000 yen including voluntary insurance.

According to the company, when sold in this way, the ownership of the car remains with the company, not the individual, and there are advantages such as facilitating the reuse of old batteries.

Among automakers, Toyota Motor and SUBARU are planning to launch mass-produced EVs, and Nissan Motors and Mitsubishi Motors are planning to launch mini-car-sized EVs by the summer. The introduction is in full swing, and competition is likely to intensify.
