Emirates Air Cargo transports one billion doses of the “Covid-19” vaccine to 80 destinations via Dubai

Emirates SkyCargo, the cargo arm of Emirates Airlines, revealed that it has transported more than one billion doses of “Covid-19” vaccines on its planes.

And it stated in a statement, that it had achieved this historic achievement within 18 months of the first trial shipment to transport “Covid-19” vaccines in October 2020.

She explained that more than 4,200 tons of these vaccines, or more than one billion doses, were transported to more than 80 destinations on more than 2,000 flights, at a time when developing countries accounted for about two-thirds of the billion doses.

And he continued: “On the occasion of the upcoming World Health Day, which falls on the seventh of this April, it is worthwhile to be proud of the (Emirates Air Cargo) team in all our stations around the world, whose members spared no effort during the pandemic to maintain the flow of supply chains of essential commodities such as Vaccines and food.

With the global expansion of vaccine distribution and management, the carrier facilitated the transportation of larger quantities of vaccines from countries of origin to various destinations, bringing the total that it transported through Dubai to 250 million doses by September 2021, and to 600 million doses by December 2021.

It is noteworthy that «Emirates Air Cargo» is one of the leading global air transport companies for the transport of heat-sensitive pharmaceutical products.

In addition to the “Covid-19” vaccines, the company transports medicines and other important treatments on its flights to more than 140 destinations across six continents.

It is estimated that Emirates Airlines planes transport more than 200 tons of pharmaceutical products per day.
