Xue Jianjun, deputy director of the National Meteorological Center, said that the national atmospheric environment will continue to improve in 2021, and the number of hazy days will continue to decline.

The national average number of haze days is 21.3 days, a decrease of 2.9 days from 2020 and a decrease of 16.6 days from 2016; the average number of haze days in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Fenwei Plain and Yangtze River Delta in 2021 will be 31.7, 35.2 and 20.9 days, respectively, a decrease from 2020 6.8, 8.8 and 5.6 days.

The national average concentrations of PM10 and PM2.5 were 54 micrograms per cubic meter and 30 micrograms per cubic meter, respectively, down 3.6% and 9.1% from 2020; the national average ozone concentration was 137 micrograms per cubic meter, down 0.7% from 2020. , (PM10, PM2.5, ozone data from China Environmental Monitoring Station).

In 2021, most of the country will maintain a good level of acid rain improvement in recent years.
