We are not used, when we talk about Lotus, to use the terms “SUV” and “electric vehicle”.

However, you will have to do it!

Very imposing with more than 5 meters long, the Eletre promises a very good habitability, especially in the rear seats in the form of a choice of two seats separated by an infotainment screen or a classic bench seat.

The other side of the coin, the trunk only has a capacity of 400 litres!

Under the hood (so to speak!), the Eletre has 2 electric motors (one per axle) developing 600 hp.

Enough to accelerate the SUV from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 3 s.

A 100 kWh battery should allow a range of 600 km.

Recharging will be possible up to 350 kW in direct current and 22 kW in alternating current thanks to the 800V architecture.

It should be noted that the engineers have devoted a lot of attention to aerodynamics (Lotus does not, however, communicate any Cx value), but also to weight, thanks to the massive use of carbon and aluminum.

Thus, the Eletre would display "only" 2 tons on the scale.

For comparison, a BMW iX weighs more than 2.5 tonnes!

This new vehicle from the oh so British brand will be built… in China.

Remember that Lotus now belongs to the Geely group, which notably owns Volvo.

The first models should arrive in Europe as soon as 2023. In principle, they will be compatible with 100% autonomous driving, but Lotus will initially have to stick to the requirements of level 2+, which allows control of forward and lateral movements. of the car on the fast lane.

Prices should start at approximately 120,000 euros.
