Israel was mourning and burying its dead on Wednesday after Tuesday night's shooting in Bnei Brak that left five people dead.

The emotion was high all day in this city on the outskirts of Tel Aviv and the inhabitants remain in shock.

It was the third attack in a week in the Jewish state.

The Israeli police, army and intelligence services are therefore on the alert.

Three

deadly attacks

in less than a week and eleven victims.

As a result, the Israeli army and police are increasing their interrogations and arrests, monitoring social networks, resorting to administrative detention and soldiers are deployed as reinforcements in the occupied West Bank.

As announced by Benny Gantz, Minister of Defense, at the end of the afternoon.

“

We will take all necessary means to break this wave of terrorism, and we will use all the means that we see fit to use.

Whatever it takes, whatever it takes, we will break this wave of terrorism

”.

Everyone here remembers last year, the bloody clashes on the Esplanade of the Mosques in East Jerusalem, the eleven days of war between Israel and Hamas.

The fear is there and the objective is clear: to avoid a new spiral of violence.

Violence also condemned by

the King of Jordan

, who received the Israeli president on Wednesday in Amman.

“

We think the conflict has gone on for too long.

Violence has produced - continues to cause - too much agony and provides fertile ground for extremism on all sides.

Because, recalls the King of Jordan, we must “

work for peace

” so that “

the Palestinians and Israelis do not continue to pay the price.
