On March 27, local time, Yves Claude, president of Auchan, a large French supermarket chain, said that it is inhumane to stop business in Russia, and the company will not withdraw from the Russian market.

He said that the most important thing is to retain employees. Auchan Group has been in the Russian market for 20 years and has 30,000 employees.

French companies such as Total, Danone, Societe Generale, Auchan and Decathlon should not withdraw from the Russian market because of their responsibilities to employees and customers, the head of the French Enterprise Movement (MEDEF) said earlier.

This week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on French companies to withdraw from the Russian market in a video speech to the French National Assembly.
