At the meeting of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry held on the 25th, outside experts and others participated as committee members to discuss how to respond to the tight warning of electricity supply and demand.

The warning was issued in the jurisdiction of TEPCO after 9 pm on the 21st of this month, and in the jurisdiction of Tohoku Electric Power after 11:30 am on the 22nd.

The tight warning is originally a rule to be issued around 6 pm the day before the supply and demand becomes severe.

The committee members pointed out that the delay in the announcement led to a delay in efforts to save electricity at homes and businesses.

In addition, there is a structural problem among electric power companies that thermal power plants are being suspended or abolished one after another, and the supply capacity itself is declining. Also came out.

In addition, there was an opinion that the power grid that receives power interchange from other power companies should steadily proceed with the expansion plan scheduled to be implemented by the end of FY2027.

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry intends to improve the response based on the opinions of the committee members.
