The study compares the cost of an electric Nissan Leaf and that of a thermal VW Golf, over one year and 16,000 km, fuel costs included, but excluding insurance and road taxes.
Unsurprisingly, it is in the Scandinavian countries, whose taxation heavily penalizes the purchase of a thermal car, that the electric car is the most interesting.
In Denmark, the Leaf costs €26,333 less than the Golf (26,209 against €52,542)!
In Norway, it costs €17,013 less (22,540 against €39,554).
In France, the gain is €3,328 (27,358 against €30,686).
Conversely, in Great Britain and Germany, electric costs a whopping €800 more than thermal.
