[Explanation] In Gonghe County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, with an average altitude of 3,200 meters, Jiwei shrimp "successfully overcome" difficulties such as acclimatization in the plateau area, and became a new industry on the road to prosperity in Shangtamai Village.
[Explanation] In 2018, Wang Fengzhong found a natural hot spring in Shangtamai Village, Gonghe County, with a temperature of about 27°C. After he sent the water sample to the relevant department for testing, he found that the water quality of the hot spring can meet the drinking water standard. He has been familiar with it since childhood. Wang Fengzhong of aquaculture immediately came up with the idea of raising shrimp.

I invited experts from Guangdong to certify. After multiple certifications, this water can be (used for) aquaculture, and seafood products such as marine aquaculture, prawns and sea bass can be raised.
I started to approve the project in March 2021, started construction in April, and put it into production in August. Our shrimp fry-based prawns were put into production in August last year, and the first batch of shrimp fry came to be put into production and aquaculture.
[Explanation] After the first batch of shrimp seedlings arrived, due to their own problems with the ratio of marine aquaculture ingredients, the breeding situation was not as good as expected, and the 300,000 shrimp seedlings basically did not survive.
But Wang Fengzhong did not stop there because of this failure. He invited technicians from other places to train his employees.

When the second batch of shrimp was raised, we had all (aspects) about the water pressure and water temperature to feed it. After the technician taught it and we put it in according to his proportion, the second batch of shrimp survived very well.
Every day in the factory, I mainly look at its water temperature, salinity, water quality, and ammonia nitrite. I have to measure it every day. If it is not right, I need to deal with it immediately, or change the water, or put some water or add some water, mainly salt water.
[Explanation] The success of the second batch of shrimp farming was close to 100%, which gave Wang Fengzhong confidence. Now the sixth batch of shrimp seedlings that he has entered is already raised in the greenhouse, and the three batches of shrimp that have been sold are very well evaluated in the market. In short supply.
Wang Fengzhong also said that it is not easy for Qinghai to grow jiwei shrimp now, so it is necessary to expand the industry and meet the needs of Gonghe County and Xining City in Hainan Prefecture as soon as possible.

We plan to start construction in large quantities in April. In mid-April, we plan to add 30 (shrimp) ponds. In this case, we will be able to market 500 catties of prawns every day until October this year, and can be listed every day to meet the needs of Gonghe County, Hainan Prefecture. At the same time, we have to meet the needs of the market in large quantities, and some seafood restaurants in Xining City can eat our fresh shrimp.
[Explanation] The successful "rooting" of Jiwei shrimp is not only a big step in the cultivation of seafood on the plateau, but also boosts the economy of Shangtamai Village, Gonghe County, allowing local villagers to increase their income.
