Nearly 350 heavy goods vehicles were still blocked this Tuesday morning near the A84, in Guilberville (Manche) by transporters who denounce the soaring fuel prices, the prefecture said on Tuesday.

“There are about sixty of us blocking around 500 heavyweights but we are in the process of freeing some of them.

We are waiting for written guarantees from the prefecture before lifting “totally the dam, said in the middle of the morning Romain Leguelinel, manager West auto logistics who participates in this blockage with his truck.

A response from the ministry required

The demonstrators are waiting for the prefecture to promise them in writing to be received at the ministry, according to him.

"Today (with the envelope of 400 million in aid announced for road hauliers), we are being given a check for 1,300 euros per vehicle, but there is no viable device that has been developed for the future", added the manager of this Norman company with 11 employees.

Blockade throughout the English Channel

According to the prefecture, elsewhere in the Channel, four roundabouts were still blocked Tuesday morning: three in Carentan and one in Saint-Lô.

According to Leguelinel, 200 fishermen also joined Guilberville on Tuesday before dispersing and for some taking the direction of Saint-Lô.

Further south, in Brittany, the prefecture of Morbihan has requested the release of the port of Lorient.

This Monday, protest actions were carried out across the country, including snail operations or filter dams, to protest against fuel prices.
