  On September 23, 2021, the Guiyang Intermediate Court of Guizhou Province made a first-instance verdict on the bribery case against Yuan Renguo, the former chairman of Moutai Group.

  The video released by the Supreme People's Procuratorate shows that during the process of handling the case, more than 40 investigators counted 1,588 pieces of gold products, watches, jewelry, calligraphy and paintings from Yuan Ren's country, including many rare items such as ivory, as well as cash in RMB, US dollars, and pounds. After waiting for a while, it took the investigators a day and a night to complete the inventory.

  The video shows that the Guiyang People's Procuratorate is responsible for the review and prosecution of the case.

  According to public information, Yuan Renguo was born in October 1956, a native of Renhuai, Guizhou.

  On the morning of September 23, 2021, the Guiyang Intermediate People's Court of Guizhou Province publicly sentenced Yuan Renguo, former deputy director of the Economic Committee of the 12th Guizhou Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, in the case of accepting bribes, and sentenced the defendant Yuan Renguo to life imprisonment and deprivation of political rights for life. , and confiscated all personal property; Yuan Renguo's bribe-obtained property and its fruits shall be recovered in accordance with the law and turned over to the state treasury.

  After the trial, it was found that: from 1994 to 2018, the defendant Yuan Renguo successively served as the deputy director of Kweichow Moutai Distillery, and the deputy general manager, vice chairman, general manager and chairman of China Kweichow Moutai Distillery (Group) Co., Ltd. , Chairman of Kweichow Moutai Co., Ltd., etc., to provide assistance to others in matters such as obtaining Moutai liquor distribution rights, household distribution, and increasing Moutai liquor supply, and illegally accepting property from others amounting to RMB 112.9 million Yu Yuan.

  The Guiyang Intermediate People's Court held that the defendant Yuan Renguo's behavior constituted the crime of accepting bribes.

In view of Yuan Renguo’s attempt to accept bribes of 20.5 million yuan; he was able to truthfully confess his crimes after he arrived at the case, and took the initiative to confess most of the facts of the crime of accepting bribes that the case-handling authorities had not yet grasped; The circumstances of a lighter punishment may be determined at the discretion, and may be given a lighter punishment in accordance with the law.

  In May 2018, Yuan Renguo resigned as Chairman, Director, Legal Representative and related positions of the Board of Directors of Moutai Distillery.

  In October 2018, with the approval of the Guizhou Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Guizhou Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision conducted a review and investigation on Yuan Renguo, the former deputy secretary and chairman of the Maotai Group Party Committee, suspected of serious violations of discipline and law.

  In May 2019, Yuan Renguo was expelled from the party and from public office, and the suspected crime was transferred to the procuratorate for review and prosecution according to law.

On June 27, the People's Procuratorate of Guiyang City filed a public prosecution with the Guiyang Intermediate People's Court against Yuan Renguo's alleged bribery case.
