Pickets in favor of the transport strike have overwhelmed the Government for four days with a blockade of the country's supply and consumption chain.

"The Government has informed us that more than 80 attacks per hour have been recorded on carriers and trucks that did not want to support the strike," they assure EL MUNDO from a large distribution company.

“Interior is not acting with the necessary forcefulness

”, they protest in different business associations of the consumer chain affected by the attacks on trucks, blockades in logistics centers and accesses to factories and shopping centers.

In transport and distribution companies, more than 1,700 attacks on transporters and trucks that do not support the strike have been recorded, and videos have been compiled in which pickets are seen sabotaging trucks in the presence of State security forces.

Sources from the Ministry of the Interior assure that the deployment of troops

reaches 25% of the total with 16,476 civil guards and 7,122 national police, totaling 23,598.

"It does not matter so much deployment if they do not act with more forcefulness", agree in the main distribution associations consulted by this newspaper.

The Minister of Transport,

Raquel Sánchez

, and the Minister of Territorial Policy,

Isabel Rodríguez

, admitted this Thursday that "violent acts" are taking place against the country's chain of consumption, but they attributed them to "the extreme right".

The Minister of Transport assured, according to Europa Press, that it is "

a group of ultras that is trying to subdue the country."

“We cannot allow them to subject the country to a pulse that we will not tolerate, we are working with the Ministry of the Interior and we have mobilized more than 15,000 agents to repress these violent actions that do not represent the sector.

We are sensitive but we are not going to give in to this blackmail, sabotage and boycott », he stated, providing deployment figures different from those given by the Ministry of Fernando Grande-Marlaska.

The leader of Vox,

Santiago Abascal

, has defended this Thursday the “legitimate” strike.

In a tweet, he stressed that the Executive reformed the Penal Code to throw "its violent and trained pickets against political enemies" and now, "that they do not control the legitimate strike of the carriers ruined by this Government, they speak of coercion."

The president of the platform,

Manuel Hernández

, leader of this indefinite strike, accused the government on Thursday of "discrediting the grassroots sector with manipulation and hanging ideological labels."

In an appeal to his followers, he said that the pickets should not fall for police provocations.

«I ask you, please, do not confront the authorities even if they provoke you.

We are going to know how to act, we are going to know how to do things.

We're all grown-ups now

."

And he harangued them, because "things are going well."

Meanwhile, sectors already heavily affected by the rise in fuel prices, such as carriers, suffer a double loss.

The AECOC Seafood Committee - which includes leading companies in the sector from all over the country - called on the Government again, after four days of strike, to stop "

the cessation of coercion and violent actions that are taking place against carriers

not adhered to the transport strike, especially in the north of Spain and in Andalusia, and that hinder the supply of fresh fish throughout the country.” Companies such as Estrella Galicia or Coren warn of the risk of paralyzing production.

For their part, the callers of the strike criticize that the Government excludes them from the negotiation.

On the opposite side, the National Committee for Road Transport, with the CETM employers at the head, harshly accuses the organizers of the intimidation of the pickets "who act freely and have generated violent and worrying episodes," according to

Ovidio de la Roza

, president of CETM.

The only thing they both agree on is that the Government must already alleviate prices.
